The M830r LRF 2680 comes with the SUMR reticle which makes spotting targets much more easy, and allows fast measurement of target widths for calculating wind values. Currently no other manufacturer produces a binocular rangefinder that includes a reticle other than Steiner. Laser range finders are often used by long range shooters and hunters. Combining a binocular and the rangefinder often makes a lot of sense to allow the fast ranging once a target is located. However an often overlooked use of rangefinders is for land navigation. They can quickly and easily assist in performing a reverse azimuth to determine the distance to a feature on a printed map, and help determine your current location.
