Below is a picture showing the new versions of the MPA narrow cheekpiece. These new ones do not use a mounting block, instead screws penetrate the cheekpiece and screw directly into the rods below them. For Ultralight/Hybrid there are (2) rods. For Matrix/Competition and others there are (2) rods and a center thumbscrew which uses a threaded larger rod that threads into the thumbwheel. The “OLD STYLE” below is the mounting block for the wide curved aluminum cheekrest from the older versions of the MPA chassis (shown without the cheeckrest). The version pictured uses the replacement mount for a quick release (typically used on a non-folder chassis). The mounting block is the same for all the older MPA chassis.

We have designed a new MPA Competition Cheekpiece to work with the new style chassis. Pictured below is the configuration on a Competition Non-Folder.

I personally like a more narrow cheek rest so I can keep my head more vertical and relaxed while having a more natural upright head position. I couldn’t find anything available so I designed one.
Here is a video from the NSSF about head position behind the rifle. Here is a link to the source page.
I wanted the MPA Competition Cheekpiece to include an offset that was reversible to allow customers to choose.
I also wanted to create a cheekpiece that made finding a repeatable cheek position easy rather than difficult.
This MPA Competition Cheekpiece is the result of that work.
Crafted in Carbon Fiber impregnated Nylon, it is durable yet light, and comfortable. It is 3D printed in small batches here in Boulder, CO in our shop.

I like the shape of these and think they work well. However the quality seems to have gone down hill compared to the last one I purchased a couple years ago. This think looked like a 4th grader used a 3d printer from Amazon to make the piece. The plastic was stringy and rough. I sanded it, and re-drilled the holes to clean them up a bit and I going to use it. Just seems it could be made a little better for the price.
Great fit on shoulder stock. Texture is quite rough on my face. Perhaps s smoother finish would be in order.
Without drilling the proper size holes and countersinks and finding screws that fit there is no way to make this part work. I should have known better. $33 doesn’t buy much these days and unfortunately that applies in this case.
David,
Please give us a call. It sounds like the cheekpiece you have is not the correct one for your chassis (MPA made a change about a year ago). We want to make sure you have the correct cheek piece that matches the MPA chassis you have (old version or new). The hole spacing of the cheek pieces should be correct depending on which version of the MPA chassis you have, but they don't work across the old/new versions.
Though we appreciate you thoughts on the low cost of the cheekpiece, we still want to make sure you have the correct cheek piece for you chassis.
I love the shape, and it puts you in the right spot everytime behind the scope. Weaknside shooting takes some getting use to, but it is nothing that can't be trained for.
I bought the competition Cheekpiece and overall felt like it wasn't complete, it just had only come off the 3D printer. For 34.99, I mean I got what I paid for, but my father and I were a little disappointed in the end result, a little sand paper goes a long way to smooth out those rough edges. As well, the Ridges were extremely rough when shooting. Both of the Cheekpieces bought are sitting currently off the our MPA Chassis for the stock one.
I ended up sanding one of the Cheekpieces, I had immediately noticed that as it was smoothed out it got more comfortable but still not going on to the Chassis until I smooth over the Taper a little more.
