Features:
The overall length of the Desert Tech MDRx is just 26” when using a 16” barrel and weighs only 7.12-7.5 lbs. This makes it legal to own without a special SBR tax stamp. We will also be able to offer a 10.5” barrel (tax stamp required) in the future which brings the overall length to 20”.
Not only is it small and lightweight, but it is also multi-caliber capable and fully ambidextrous with no modifications necessary. The Desert Tech MDR is currently available in 5.56x45mm and 7.62x51mm calibers in 16” barrels. A unique feature to the MDR is that it has a patent pending sighting system that will retain a barrels zero. This eliminates the need to compensate for any impact shift. It comes with one P-Mag, threaded barrel with an A1 flash hider.
Additional Info
The thread specifications are 5/8×24 for the 7.62x51mm where the 5.56x45mm uses a 1/2×28 thread pitch. Color choices are Black or Flat Dark Earth.
We order all our MDRx’s with a forward eject and 16″ barrel. Let us know if you need something different since they are somewhat configurable. Additionally the chamber for 5.56 or .223 is a .223 Wylde which handles both calibers.
The MDRx has an improved trigger, new stronger polymer, an improved gas block and comes with the new MDR muzzle attachment called the “ratchet compensator”.

Ordered a unicorn and they had to me in just a couple days. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was super nice and courteous; something rare in the gun world.
