The Glock 19 Gen5 Pistol has all the same features you know and love, and includes some improvements to the tried and true Glock technology. The major differences include a nDLC coated slide and barrel, which offers higher durability and performance in undesirable climate conditions. The barrel also utilizes new rifleing and is slightly longer, which Glock promises noticeably increases the accuracy. Additionally, the slide catch tab has been updated to be ambidextrous, so when coupled with the reversible magazine release the G19 Gen5 is easily modified for left hand shooters. Glock got rid of the finger grooves on the handgrip to increase comfort, and flared the magazine well ever so slightly to aid in a speedy reload.
The magazines now feature a bright orange follower, allowing the shooter to have an instant visual cue as to how many rounds are left. These magazines are still compatible with previous generations, however some parts of the pistol itself (such as the barrel) are not reverse-compatible. Like previous models, the G19 Gen5 uses a trigger safety, so you won’t find a button to put in the safe position. The barrel is 4.02″ long, with a trigger pull of 26 N, and with a full magazine weighs 28 oz. The Glock 19 Gen5 Pistol is chambered in 9mm Luger, and is 5.04″ x 7.25″ x 1.34″ at greatest measurements.
The G19 should fit in any holster made for the previous Glock generations, however if you do not have a holster yet, take a look at our Stealth Operator Holsters.
